Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees for the Salem Community Charter School will hold a Regular Meeting on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Salem Community Charter School, 1 East India Square, Suite 121, Salem, MA.

MEETING AGENDA

I.      Call to Order

II.     Approval of Minutes – May 9, 2013

III.    New Business
  • Principal Evaluation Process: ~Bob Gass will discuss the principal evaluation process. ~Discuss plans and responsibility for another online survey for the "non-profit executive director" part of the position.~
  • Unveiling of~SCCS Competencies, Benchmarks and a sampling of Levels and Rubrics along with the graduate profile (VOTE?)
  • Finance/SCCS Growth Plan~Discussion: Report out on three meetings this month with~Sarah Stanton (City Finance Director) and Phil Littlehale (SPS Business Manager). ~Review of SCCS growth plan options and~recommendations~based on the new construction timeline. (VOTE)
  • Accountability Plan and~Annual Report~Requirements~(Including the new charter school assessment criteria). Review~Board requirements~for the Accountability Plan and Annual Report requirements (writing, committee work-plans, strategic plan development, and board recruitment). ~
  • Strategic Planning~in Fall -- Essex County Corp~Thurs. Oct 3rd and Thurs. Nov 7th~for approximately $2000. ~(VOTE)
  • Review of Open Campus Policy~ (VOTE)
IV.     Principals Report
  • Update on~New Name~- School Committee vote to be rescheduled for late June, early July after a meeting with the mayor and Superintendent
  • Update on our "Charter Conditions" -- May 31st Report on attendance (and subsequent meeting with Joanna, Ruth and Jenny Curtin from the CSO), facilities update, and culinary arts/entrepreneurial~program plans.
  • Plans for summer board meetings:~
  • Next meeting date/time
  • Graduation~July 19th at 5pm. ~Location TBD
  • Annual Report due~August 1st. ~Needs to be reviewed and voted on prior to submission.
  • Possible Board Retreat/Celebration
